According to the energy saving trust loft insulation of a detached house can cost anything around £400. With eco3 funding you can have loft insulation for free. In addition, the chart below shows statistics from the energy saving trust (2018) on average annual energy bills savings according to your house type. What free insulation can I get?
Some suppliers offer free insulation if you’re eligible under the eco scheme. For example, you may be eligible if you’re on government benefits. But suppliers will also take into account how much your home will benefit from insulation.
The green homes grant scheme will also provide free insulation to households in the lowest-income groups (you will need to be in receipt of certain government benefits). If you don’t qualify for this, the scheme will also provide vouchers for at least two-thirds of the cost of some types of insulation for homeowners in england. Loft insulation is installed on the floor of the loft. Blankets of mineral wool (glass fibre) are rolled out between and then across the joists. The latest government recommendation is a depth of 11 inches or 270mm. Unlike roof insulation, free government-backed loft insulation grants are available now under the energy companies obligation (eco).

What’s on offer and how do I get a boiler grant?

If you home needs cavity wall and floor insulation costing £6,000, you will only pay £2,000, with the government vouchers contributing the remaining two-thirds. Agree to install an £10,000 air-source heat pump and the government will contribute the first £5,000 – or the whole amount if you are on benefits including working tax credit, child tax credit, universal credit and disability living allowance. The council is currently working with a local contractor and scottish power to offer grants for cavity and loft insulation if you live in a privately owned property. What can I do if I have problems with my insulation?

there is no access or access is restricted. There must be a hatch or other access point that one person can easily fit through. If there is no hatch or it is too small, most of our installers can arrange for one to be fitted. There are a large quantity of stored items and you are not prepared to clear them.
